Automation is revolutionizing recycling. SUNY Group’s Tetra Pak Sorting Line uses AI-driven optical recognition to identify and separate beverage cartons from mixed paper streams before they reach the pulper. The result is cleaner input, less contamination, and higher pulp yield.

Tetra Pak cartons are a global standard for liquid packaging, widely used for milk, juice, and beverage products. However, their composite structure—consisting of paper fiber, polyethylene plastic, and aluminum foil—makes them one of the most challenging materials to recycle efficiently. To address this, Suny Group has developed the Tetrapack Recycling Machine. This high-efficiency system enables complete separation and recovery of valuable materials from multi-layer beverage cartons.

Application Range of the Tetra Pack Sorting Line

  • Beverage carton recycling plants
  • Municipal waste sorting centers
  • Paper mills seeking secondary pulp sources
  • Companies specializing in composite material recovery
  • Environmental engineering projects for sustainable waste management

Working Process of the Tetra Pack Sorting Line

  1. Feeding and Shredding: Cartons are delivered by conveyor and shredded into 20–30 mm flakes.
  2. Pulping and Screening: The fiber is dispersed in water and separated from non-fiber components.
  3. Plastic-Aluminum Separation: Frictional thermal technology isolates PE and Al layers cleanly.
  4. Drying and Collection: Each recovered material is dehydrated, cleaned, and stored separately for reuse or resale.
